Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

The Alaska Forum is proud to announce the availability of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) as part of our partnership with the Alaska Pacific University and the opportunity to earn 1 credit hour through UAF Bristol Bay Campus for attending the Alaska Forum on the Environment.

What is a CEU?

A Continuing Education Unit (CEU) is a measure used in continuing education programs, particularly those required in a licensed profession in order for the professional to maintain the license. Many professional certifications require earning CEUs to maintain active credentials.

Alaska Forum will again be offering Continuing Education Credits (CEU's) for attending the Alaska Forum on the Environment in partnership with Alaska Pacific University. The interdisciplinary environment and opportunity for contact with a wide variety of Alaska stakeholders makes AFE an outstanding venue for your career development. CEU’s are available for one credit with attendance of 10 contact hours and two credits with 20 contact hours attended. One credit is $80 and two credits are only $95. You’ll be required to record the events attended and produce a written summary of each event you choose. What you choose to attend is up to you, allowing you to determine your own course material. This is an excellent opportunity to get the accreditation needed for your continuing education development or to maintain your certifications while also attending the variety of session topics available at AFE.

Stop by the AFE registration table for information on the program or to register. Be sure to register and get the necessary instruction and documents before attending any of the sessions. You can also preregister by contacting Peter Melde by email at pmelde@akforum.org or toll free at 1-888-301-0185.

What about University Credit?

Earn one college credit this year at the 2013 Alaska Forum on the Environment through University of Alaska Fairbanks Bristol Bay Campus. The course introduces many of the ways science and public policy is presented across disciplines and how environmental data is collected and used. Course participants interact with environmental studies experts and policy makers from across Alaska by participating in AFE sessions and discussions. To earn credit participants must actively participate in conference activities for at least 3 days.

This course fee is being offered at a reduced cost of $75 (normally $168) for registered AFE Participants!

Information and course materials are provided at the UAF Bristol Bay Booth #24 or inquire at the AFE Registration Table. Contact at the conference: Todd Radenbaugh, Chet Chambers, Clint Reigh, or Adam Kane.

If you need more information on CEUs and course credit, please visit the AFE Registration Services desk during the event, or contact us by email or by calling (888) 301-0185.
